Preschool Outreach is a member of the Region of Waterloo Child Care Special Needs Resourcing Partnership (CCSNRP). Our team of ECE Resource Consultants and ECE Enhanced Staff work together with any licensed early learning and child care setting in Kitchener, Waterloo or Wilmot Township. The kinesiologist works with any licensed early learning and child care setting in the Region of Waterloo. Our purpose is to facilitate the inclusion of children from 0 to 6 years of age who have developmental concerns.
Our Work with Early Learning and Child Care Programs
ECE Resource Consultants:
Complete functional assessments to determine the child’s strengths and needs
Collaborate with early childhood educators, families and other professionals in the community involved with each child
Co-ordinate an individual program for each child
Monitor growth and development
Provide transitional support to children entering preschool programs
Provide information, training, resources and materials to early childhood educators and families
Kinesiologists:
Assess a child’s physical development and movement abilities
Investigate a child’s sensory processing
Assess the physical environment
Provide suggestions, strategies and equipment to improve accessibility
Provide program consultation, training and resources to early childhood educators on topics related to physical health promotion
ECE Enhanced Staffing:
Work directly in the early learning & child care setting requiring additional supports to ensure safety and accessibility for all children

Transition to kindergarten planning

Referrals can be made by parents, early childhood educators or other professionals provided there is written consent of the parents. Contact Child Care Special Needs Access Point (SNAP) to make a referral.
