On Tuesday, November 22, 2011, Community Placement hosted a focus discussion group at the Downtown Community Center. Participants of Community Placement and their families/supports were able to discuss a survey that was sent out in October, and to gather ideas about ways people want to be involved within the community.
Community Placement decided that after the success of the Volunteer Action Force (otherwise known as VAF); we would continue to have small groups volunteer at "one-time" events each month, therefore, we have created Project Volunteer!

This summer 27 youth between the ages of 16-21 participated in the summer Youth Exploring Possibilities Program (YEP). The program ran for 9 weeks and there were always lots of hustle and bustle as the youth traveled all over the KW area, travelling as far as Guelph, Brantford and Stratford.
The Studio recently welcomed The Van Gogh Cafe Art Program to 109 Ottawa St. The Studio welcomed another staff member and 8 new participants. Since The Van Gogh Cafe has come to The Studio the room has been transformed with all of the fantastic art work!
K-W Habilitation Services, in collaboration with Extend-a-Family W.A.L.E.S. group and a group of students from the University of Waterloo School of Pharmacy, came together to organize a Health and Wellness Fair for people with developmental disabilities.
