KW Habilitation is a local not-for-profit organization that provides a wide range of individualized services and supports to children with any special need and adults with developmental disabilities. We support individuals to live a fulfilling life which is fostered through preschool and early learning supports, respite services, residential services, community participation and employment supports. Communications Coordinator (CONTRACT)
LOCATION: Kitchener, ON

The Communications Coordinator will involve the provision of supports in all services provided within the context of the mission, values and policies and procedures of KW Habilitation. In addition, the Communications Coordinator will provide support in; development and implementation of internal and external communication strategies (including written material, social media and e-News bulletins); website content management; develop communication plans for programs and projects; promote organizational goals; lead, develop and coordinate key messages; and other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Post-secondary education in communications, fundraising or related field
  • Proficiency with Computer Skills using software such as Microsoft Office, publishing software, WordPress, and social media (e.g., Twitter, Facebook, Instagram etc.)
  • Ability to read, interpret and summarize newsletters, journals, manuals, reports, and legislation
  • Communication and presentation skills to respond to inquiries and requests
  • Analytical, research, organizational skills; the ability to work independently on a team, completing projects being creative and detail oriented
  • Ability to travel to locations within, and occasionally outside the Waterloo Region
  • Ability to track and update statistics and analytics related to communications
  • Project management skills
  • Photography and Video editing skills an asset
  • Current Standard First Aid an asset

 

Schedule: 40 hours per week (some flexibility required)
Start Date: December 1, 2022 (approximately 37 weeks contract)
