SENIOR FINANCIAL ANALYST (FULL-TIME)
LOCATION: Kitchener, ON

KW Habilitation is a local not-for-profit organization that provides a wide range of individualized services and supports to children with any special need and adults with developmental disabilities. We support individuals to live a fulfilling life which is fostered through preschool and early learning supports, respite services, residential services, community participation, and employment supports.

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer the Senior Financial Analyst leads the finance department of the agency in a way that will continually strengthen the financial health of the organization. Will contribute to effective budgeting, managing internal control process, record keeping and financial accountability. To deliver financial services that will assist leadership in managing costs in accordance with agency approved budget and policies.

In collaboration with the senior leadership team, identify and/or confirm organizational goals and objectives and support the agency’s vision through values-driven leadership to achieve success in terms of quality service, sound financial stewardship, organizational sustainability, and growth.


Requirements:
KW Habilitation is looking for a financial analyst that has some or all of the following
• Five years accounting experience preferably in the not-for-profit sector.
• Years of experience and/or education that can meet the requirements of the position.
• Education: Bachelor’s Degree/College Diploma in a related field of study (Accounting/Finance) completed or ongoing up to and including CPA designation.
• Proficient computer skills including demonstrated experience using Windows operating system, spreadsheets, Office 365, databases, Sage and accounting (ACCPAC) software.
• Experience in month end close, journal entries, account reconciliation, AP, the preparation of internal financial statements, reconciliation of accounts and payroll functions.
• Proficient in financial strategic planning, data management, budgeting and financial analysis.
• Ability to demonstrate key Core Competencies; Championing Change and Innovation, Problem Solving and Decision Making, Resource Management, Strategic Thinking, Inclusive Leadership and Building Relationships.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and effective multi-tasking/prioritizing abilities

Responsibilities:
• Develops and maintains policies and protocols that ensures all finance and accounting practices meet corporate and legislated requirements.
• Ensure proper and timely reporting to the government.
• Prepare, review, compare, evaluate, and report financial information regarding; budgets, costs, journal entries, and annual financial statements and recommend changes.
• Prepares for and assists with internal and external financial audits. Ensure all documents required by the external audit team are provided timely and accurately.
• Responsible for program budgets, projections, and year-end forecasts.
• Direct and coach finance department team members and promote staff development.

Schedule: 40hrs/week with flexibility
