KW Hab’s Karen Klee Receives Gold Award

We are proud to announce that Karen Klee, Nurse and Healthcare Consultant here at KW Habilitation, has been awarded the Colleges and Institutes Canada (CICan) Gold Leadership Excellence Award for Faculty. Karen has been an invaluable part of our IPAC team and has helped us navigate the COVID-19 pandemic.  Congratulations, Karen!

In addition to her consulting work at KW Hab, Karen is also a professor and the coordinator of the Developmental Services Worker (DSW) program at Fanshawe College. Her over 20 years experience as a nurse consultant, alongside work chairing a provincial committee focused on recruitment and retention of DS support workers, reinforce her commitment to supporting the sector’s wellbeing.

“Karen is humble and reflective of her teaching practices and continually pushes herself to explore new technologies and approaches to improve the delivery of her courses and eagerly shares what she has learned with colleagues across the College,” says Sandra Fieber, associate dean, School of Community Studies. “She also exemplified the selfless nature of her profession by returning to frontline care with a community living organization early in the pandemic.”

We are so grateful for Karen’s expertise and thoughtfulness. We couldn’t think of anyone more deserving of this award.
